But he wasn't happy really, was he? He spent half his life trying to reclaim the childhood he never had. Fortunately for us, he spent the other half making great music.

Yes... "One More Chance" (not to be confused with "I Want You Back" where Michael sings "Oh baby all I need is one more chance...") was the B Side of "I'll Be There" (Motown 1171), released in 1970.

It's interesting to see/hear him sing in 1969 and on the Thriller videos. Of course his voiced changed, but his phrasing and style completely changed too. I liked Off The Wall and Thriller a lot, but his singing style in 1969 was so much more soulful and natural(?) at least to my ears.

By the way, this song was with Jermaine Jackson on lead vocals. I
always thought he added the real soul and depth to the sound of this
group.
